Magic Albert was represented by his 200th individual winner when Bingo Rose scored a four length victory in the Leukaemia Foundation Maiden (1300m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The Yarraman Park stallion’s 200 winners have won a total of 530 races at a 64% strike rate.
Bingo Rose (3f Magic Albert – Bingo Gwen by Success Express) was racing second-up after a near 10 month spell and she came from well back to swamp her rivals in the straight.
She is a homebred for Goodwood Park owners Marshall and Joyce Boyd and her dam Bingo Gwen is a daughter of G1 VATC Toorak Hcp winner Ricochet Rosie (Galveston).
Bingo Gwen foaled a colt by Goodwood Park sire St Averil in September and she was bred back to him in October.
St Averil (Saint Ballado) represents the Halo sireline and shuttles to Queensland from Bonita Farm in Maryland. He was a G2 winner of the Santa Catalina Stakes and was also runner-up to Lion Heart in the G1 Hollywood Futurity.
St Averil stood for a $6,600 (inc gst) service fee at Goodwood Park in 2010 alongside Specialize (Bluebird), Legal Opinion (Danehill) and Duntroon Digger (Royal Academy).
Legal Opinion has just reached a milestone of his own with 100 individual winners of 297 races.
Legal Opinion (Danehill – Summoned by Crowned Prince) is a half brother to G1 racehorse and sire Zeditave (The Judge) and Alannon (Noalcoholic).
In a brief four-start race career, he displayed blistering speed to smash a long-standing 2yo class record at the Gold Coast. Despite inheriting a pedigree rich in speed and precocity, Legal Opinion has provided a vast array of winners ranging from 800m right up to 2200m.
