Daydreamer capped off a dream day for Oaklands Stud in the lucky last at Toowoomba on Saturday night. The Mark Webb trained filly led from the outset to win the SEDL Agencies Hcp (1000m) under lights at Clifford Park.
Daydreamer is by Chateau Istana and her win completed a four-timer for Oaklands sires at Queensland’s TAB meetings on Saturday.
Ferocity opened the Eagle Farm program with winter carnival candidate Lucky Morna before deceased Oaklands champion Iglesia chimed in with Primed (Eagle Farm) and Blitzed (at Toowoomba).
Daydreamer (2f Chateau Istana – Claire’s Vision by Marwina) is an Oaklands homebred for Neville Stewart and long-time client Charles Stewart who is no relation.
Chateau Istana (Grand Lodge) was a G2 winner of the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster before transferring to Hong Kong where he won races as Chateau King Prawn. He stands for a $7,700 (inc gst) fee at Oaklands.
Daydreamer is one of three first-crop winners for Chateau Istana. The grey filly had opened his account at Toowoomba in October. Her dam Claire’s Vision was a Sydney winner and she has already foaled winners by former Oaklands Stud sires Lion Hunter and Tsuimai.
