Dubai Destination now a dual-purpose sire

Dubai Destination was one name missing from Darley’s roster of sires to stand at Dalham Hall Stud in 2010.  He has been purchased as a dual-purpose stallion for Glenview Stud in Ireland.

Dubai Destination was shown the stable door a week after Refuse To Bend was culled from Darley’s Kildangan Stud roster.

Besides siring G1 Racing Post Trophy winner Ibn Khaldun and high-class Italian filly Rosa Del Dubai, the son of Kingmambo has also been represented by six winners over jumps including the promising hurdlers Mission Control and Tasheba.

Dubai Destination was a US$1.5 million yearling and he defeated Rock Of Gibraltar in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster as a two-year-old.  He also won the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot at four.

Dubai Destination is out of the Alleged mare Mysterial and is a half-brother to the Group 1-winning miler Librettist who also shuttles to Australia.

Dubai Destination served 600 mares in five seasons at Darley Australia up to and including 2008.  There have been 42 winners from 104 starters to date but Dubai To Sydney is his only horse with black-type.  And he’s the only one of the those 42 winners to win more than $100,000.
