Dubleo continued his festive start to the New Year when lightly raced mare Monnie’s Double captured the McNamee Constructions Hcp (1100m) at Wyong.
It was the fourth winner in the first five days of the year for the Vinery stallion.
Monnie’s Double (4m Dubleo – Monrich by Monongahela) is prepared by David Pfieffer for owner-breeder John Starr. The mare had won a Wyong Maiden at her only other start for the Warwick Farm trainer in July.
Monnie’s Double followed hot on the heels of fellow Dubleo winners Solitude Lad at Mornington on New Year’s Day and Skateboard (Warwick Farm) & Millyen (Gold Coast) on January 2.
Dubleo (Southern Halo) has built up a magnificent 65% winning strike-rate since retiring to Vinery. He has sired 61 winners of 141 races topped stakes winning filly Dubleanny.
