Elite Fastnet mare to FBAA

Federation of Bloodstock Agents Australia members bought over 30 foals and mares at the Inglis Great Southern Sale helping turnover increase during all four sessions last week.

FBAA Hunter Valley agent Tubba Williams was second on the overall leader-board with a $220,000 bid for Elite Rock.  She is a Fastnet Rock sister to Group 1 performer Awesome Rock.  Their dam Awesome Planet (Giant’s Causeway) won the G3 Doomben Roses and was G1 placed in the NZ 1000 Guineas.

Belmont Bloodstock’s Damon Gabbedy targeted Contract Racing’s draft of fillies & mares.  They included Crystal Lily’s close relation Crystal Wind ($135,000) and Triscay’s in-form grand-daughter Iamhere ($110,000).

John Chalmers was active at Oaklands signing 8 sale sheets for WA clients including filly foals by Darley sires Helmet ($45,000) and Street Boss ($42,000).  The latter from NZ winner Kissinkin (Thunder Gulch) is closely related to Group 1 Shamardal mare No Evidence Needed.

Randwick Bloodstock’s Brett Howard also focused on a Street Boss filly foal ($62,000) and 4yo Flemington winner Herstory.  The Commands mare is a daughter of Flemington stakes winner Fuji Dancer and cost $80,000.

Street Boss has sired recent Group 1 winners The Quarterback (VRC Newmarket Hcp) & Cathryn Sophia (Kentucky Oaks) and Darley Victoria has boosted his service fee from $11,000 to $27,500 this year.

Sheamus Mills also weighed in with $74,000 for a well-bred Helmet filly foal from G2 Wakeful Stakes winner Hierogram offered by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds.  She’s a three-quarter sister to Darley homebred Champollion (Exceed And Excel) who was a G3 winner at Rosehill.

Rosehill winner Queen Cleopatra was value in foal to Uncle Mo for $40,000.  Her damline reads LR winner Lady Of The Desert (Desert Prince), LR winner Lady Solvil (Grosvenor) & NZ Filly of the Year Solveig (Imposing).
