Leading trainer Colin Little unveiled a very handy Bel Esprit filly named Soosa Rama at Cranbourne on Sunday.
Stepping out for the first time in the TAB iPad App Maiden (1000m), Soosa Rama applied herself very well and absolutely flew home for a easy three length victory.
Soosa Rama (3f Bel Esprit – Make My Dane by Danehill) is from a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Springsteen and his Golden Slipper winning half brother Marauding.
Eliza Park International based stallions Bel Esprit and Magnus took out the first three races on the Cranbourne card.
Magnus opened proceedings with a running double courtesy of maiden winners Just Harley (3g x Pleasure Doll by Bureaucracy) and Malaguerra (2c x Tennessee Morn by Bletchingly).
Angus Carolus also won her maiden at Penola on Sunday to make it five winners for Magnus over the weekend. He sired a double on Saturday with Whistle Baby (Flemington) and Flying Magnus (Camperdown).
Magnus is second to Bernardini on the Australian third-season sires’ premiership with prizemoney of $1.78 million. He has sired 51 individual winners at a 54% strike-rate.
Magnus (Flying Spur) has six fillies and four colts nominated for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. Buyers will have to wait until Lot 425 for the first of them to parade – a half-brother to multiple Group 2 winner Set For Fame from Eliza Park.
