Emirates Park buys southern rights for Dream Ahead

Emirates Park has purchased a 50% share in last-start G1 Prix de la Foret winner Dream Ahead.

The Diktat colt will travel to the Hunter Valley in 2012 after completing his first northern hemisphere season at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland.

Dream Ahead has claimed five races at Group 1 level.  Apart from his Longchamp victory over Goldikova on the Arc de Triomphe card, he has also won the Middle Park Stakes and July Cup at Newmarket plus the Prix Morny at Deauville and the Sprint Cup at Haydock.

Emirates CEO Trevor Lobb predicted Australasian broodmare owners will not be disappointed with Dream Ahead.  “He’s a magnificent individual standing 16.2 hands with an incredibly relaxed manner.  I had started negotiating his purchase well before the Prix de la Foret but that win only made us more determined to secure him.

“What I personally like about Dream Ahead is that he never carried any gear like blinkers or winkers.  That’s always the sign of a very exciting stallion prospect.

“We have not decided on whether he will race again but he really has nothing more to prove.  And we shouldn’t forget that he was also the equal top-rated two year-old of last season with none other than Frankel.”

Dream Ahead’s sire Diktat was a G1 winner of the Haydock Sprint Cup and his damsire Cadeaux Genereux was the European Champion 3YO Sprinter in 1988 and European Champion Older Sprinter in 1989.
