Mick Price has trained Lago Delight gelding Gigantor to victories at Pakenham (10 lengths) and Kyneton this season and he can prepare another winner by the same sire at Pakenham this afternoon.
Encosta Delight (4g Lago Delight – Imshi by Euclase) has been entered for the Hygain Maiden Plate (Race 4 at 2.10pm AEDT). He faced the starter for the first time a fortnight ago and was only beaten a half-length when runner-up to Over The Stars at Ararat.
His sire Lago Delight was a Listed winner of the 2003 Mitchell McKenzie Stakes at Moonee Valley and followed up with a nose second to Scaredee Cat in the G2 Ascot Vale Stakes at Flemington.
Encosta Delight’s dam Imshi was a Toowomba winner for Pinecliff Racing’s Jonathon Munz. She is a half-sister to Joindre who won the G1 WATC Australian Derby at Ascot and also travelled to Brisbane to win a G3 Sir Byrne Hart Stakes at Eagle Farm.
Lago Delight sired a maiden winner yesterday when the Greg Eurell trained filly Delightful Vision was successful at Geelong. Encosta Delight will be fancied to make it a running double today.
