Express delivery to Singapore

Singapore owner Alfred Tan was active at the Magic Millions HIT Sale spending more than six figures for two colts and a filly he took a shine to by Danehill Express.

The Danehill Express – Marwell Lady filly made $60,000 after clocking a quick 10.46s breeze-up at Seymour last month.  She is a half-sister to Flemington juvenile stakes winner Jestarella Boy.

Mungrup Stud based Danehill Express has only had two to race in Singapore and they are both knocking on the door.  The Brian Dean trained gelding Sugartime Jazz worked home nicely on debut at Krani last month.

Steven Burridge prepares Joyous Express who was runner-up to Kiwi bred flyer Empire Bay in August.  Owned by the Omni Stable, he will be all the better for a recent first-up outing behind Simple Pleasures.

Closer to home, Antoccino became the 8th first-crop winner by Danehill Express in the Alcoa Refinery Maiden (1600m) at Pinjarra on Sunday.  He was backing up after going down a nose at Ascot on Melbourne Cup day.

Antoccino (3g Danehill Express – Strike The Wind by Straight Strike) is trained by Colin Webster and was a bargain $10,000 buy at the 2011 Perth Magic Millions.  He is a half-brother to the Mungrup Stud bred city winners Striken (Kenvain), Vain Strike (Kenvain), Hello Hero (Stormy’s Son) and Kabam Boy (Stormy’s Son).

Their dam Strike The Wind foaled a colt by Mungrup Stud’s Redoute’s Choice sire Red Hot Choice in October.

Danehill Express has several more promising types in the pipeline like Mungrup homebred Isan Express.  The Simon Miller trained filly has been nominated to make her first start at Bunbury on Thursday.

Last week’s Lark Hill trial winner Bicol Express is also primed to debut for trainer Dave Harrison.  His dam Karla Keys won three races up to a mile in Melbourne and was also fourth home in the 2001 Victorian Oaks won by Magical Miss.

Danehill Express is by breed-shaper Danehill from G1 AJC Oaks winner Savana City.  He won the 2011-12 WA first-season sires’ premiership and Mungrup is standing him for an $8,800 (inc gst) fee.
