Falkirk doubles up in HK, NZ & Australia

Windsor Park sire Falkirk has been in outstanding form with winning doubles in three different countries this week.

John Size’s boom galloper Fay Fay and the Casper Fownes prepared Best City captured a race-to-race double as short priced favourites at Sha Tin.

Best City was bred by Ardsley Stud’s Jim Wallace and was an impressive winner at Tauranga before being sent to Hong Kong. He will be set for the 2012 Hong Kong Derby.

Falkirik’s exciting run continued with a winning doubles in New Zealand and Australia over the weekend.

Rose Of Falkirk got the ball rolling at Ellerslie. Another highly promising Falkirk tasting success in Auckland was the lightly raced Durham Town. It was his third win from only four starts at Ellerslie.

In Australia, Falkirk’s unbeaten mare Aqualin made it three on end for former Kiwi trainer Alan Jones who is now based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Falkirk’s WA based daughter Desire Path captured her third career win by nearly four lengths for leading Perth trainer Lindsay Smith.

These victories follow on from Group 1 bound San Rafael who retained his unbeaten record at Wanganui. San Rafael now heads towards a start in the G1 Levin Classic in November.

Falkirk (Tale of The Cat) was a winner of the G2 STC Theo Marks Hcp at Rosehill and G3 VRC Gilgai Stakes down the straight-six at Flemington.

He stands for a $6,500 (plus gst) at Windsor Park and will be represented by 7 lots at NZB Ready To Run Sale on November 15 & 16.
