The Inglis Melbourne Autumn yearling sale concluded on Monday afternoon with the Day 2 average on a par with the 2010 figures.

“This sale made a 23% gain in average last year and to all but hold those figures is very pleasing,” Inglis Director Peter Heagney said.  “The final clearance rate from the two days will be comfortably beyond the 80% mark, so all in all, it’s been a solid sale.”

The high point on Day 2 at Oaklands was a Falvelon colt from the family of G2 winning mare Wager (Flying Spur).  Offered by Supreme Thorougbreds, the colt was knocked down to Australian Thoroughbreds for $60,000.

Blue Gum Farm’s Bel Esprit colt from Six O’Clock Rock, offered as part of the supplementary catalogue, sold to Mick Price for $52,500.   A General Nediym colt from Three Bridges also fetched $50,000 late in the day.
