A Falvelon colt from Raheen Stud topped Day 2 of the 2011 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale on Monday.
Queensland trainer Pat Duff bought the colt for $110,000. “He’s a standout and a typical Raheen Stud type horse – tough, strong and sound,” Duff stated. “My top galloper Hard To Catch was reared at Raheen and he won over a million dollars.”
“Once owners have bought a QTIS horse, they don’t want anything else,” Duff explained. “It’s absolutely vital to keep the industry flourishing.”
Trade at the QTIS 600 Yearling Sale reached $6.69 million at a 71% clearance rate. The average price of $19,287 was solid, although below the heights of the 2010 sale at $22,166.
