The 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale closed on Thursday when Session 6 saw a turnover of $2.45 million on 206 yearlings. The final day’s trade averaged out at $11,936 on a 77% clearance rate.
Helen Page topped proceedings when she went to $55,000 to secure the half sister to rising stable star Power of Ed. The Falvelon filly, a member of the Epic Farm draft, is the second foal of the winning Iglesia mare Precious Epic.
Precious Epic’s first foal Power of Ed created a big impression last Saturday when he stormed home to win the $100,000 Queensland Events Magic Millions 2YO Plate. Page has Winter Carnival plans for Power of Ed and she was delighted to be able to buy his half sister during today’s session.
Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said he was delighted with the results achieved during Session 6. “The beauty about the Magic Millions is the great range of horses on offer – a horse for everyone’s liking and budget.”
“We all saw the rising sprint talent Warrior Girl score a commanding win at the Gold Coast last Saturday – she was purchased from this sale for just $6,000. A couple of years on and she has earned over $160,000 from just three starts!”
