Faster Son transfers to Mick Price

Queensland sprinter Faster Son will be relocated to continue his career with Mick Price at Caulfield.

Faster Son (5g Fastnet Rock – Sonata by Palace Music) began his career with wins at Gold Coast (3) and Doomben before travelling south to win at Sandown Hillside in September 2010.

He followed up with a eye-catching victory in the Mitty’s Cup at Caulfield and trainer Trevor Bailey was looking forward to a ground-breaking campaign with the gelding in 2011.

But after 8 starts without a win this year, he is being sent to Victoria on a permanent basis.  Connections made the decision after another disappointing effort in the LR Keith Noud Quality at Eagle Farm on November 26.

Faster Son has been handful this year and Bailey has tried to rectify his tendency to hang with the addition of a lugging bit plus blinkers and cheekers.

He is raced by Ontrack Thoroughbreds and syndicate manager Grant Morgan bought him for $45,000 at the 2008 Inglis Scone yearling sale.  His dam Sonata won the G3 Tattersall’s Cup at Eagle Farm and was also runner-up to Arctic Scent in the 1996 G1 Queensland Oaks.

Morgan will finalise the transfer when he returns from Hong Kong this week.
