Fath succumbs to snake bite

Danzig stallion Fath has died after being bitten by a snake.  He was based in Western Australia at Westbury Park in Coolup.

Fath had opened his Australian account as recently as Christmas Eve when his first-crop filly Keep Fath won the Cup Tickets 2YO (1100m) at Ascot.

Fath sired 93 winners of 286 races at a 59% strike-rate in Europe while based at Rathasker Stud in Ireland.

Leading Sunspeed breeder James Miorada imported Fath to Australia.  He stood for a $6,600 (inc gst) fee alongside Startac (Theatrical) and He’s A Decoy (In The Wings) at Westbury Park.
