Fillies dominate entries for Perth 2YO Classic

Exciting young Perth fillies Make Me Blush, Night War and Absolute Cracker lead the locally based order of entry for next month’s $250,000 Magic Millions Perth 2YO Classic (1200m) at Ascot.

The trio are all Saturday city winners and are assured of a run in the feature juvenile contest to be run at Ascot on February 12.

Make Me Blush (2f State City – On The Watch by Bahhare) is trained by Lou Luciani and heads the list on $34,500.  She appears a progressive type being out of a mare who was placed in the 2004 WATC Belmont Oaks and Belmont Classic.  She was a bargain $4,000 buy from Bellbridge Park at the 2010 Perth Magic Millions.

Night War (2f General Nediym – Samar by Secret Savings) is prepared by Aquanita trainer Simon Miller and she was very impressive on debut at Ascot in December.  Her dam is a Sydney winning half-sister to G1 stayer County Tyrone (QTC Queensland Derby, AJC Metropolitan & Sydney Cup).  Miller bought her for $90,000 from Baramul Stud at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Absolute Cracker (2f Flying Pegasus – Arabella by Belele) is trained by Trevor Andrews and she hasn’t been seen since winning on debut at Belmont in October.

Absolute Cracker was a $50,000 purchase from the Heytesbury Stud consignment at the Perth Magic Millions.  She is by Touchstone Farm based freshman Flying Pegasus and her dam Arabella was a G3 winner of the 1994 WATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Andrews named the filly after inspecting her for the first time at Heytesbury.  “I rang the boys at Touchstone and told them I’ve just seen an absolute cracker,” he recalled.  “Flying Pegasus has a big future as a stallion.”
