Oaklands Stud freshman All Bar One sired his first stakes winner when I’m the One burst through a gap in the straight to score impressively at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
I’m the One defeated Internal Revenue (Exceed And Excel) and Double Impact (Mossman) in close finish to the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes (1000m).
I’m the One (2g All Bar One – Halcyon Daze by Rory’s Jester) was a $6,500 buy for Chinchilla trainer Mark Goodwin at the Magic Millions National yearling sale. “I was going to send him to the paddock,” Goodwin said. “But maybe we will keep him going for the Magic Millions Classic.”
Ironically, runner-up Internal Revenue is trained by Gillian Heinrich who prepared All Bar One to 9 wins including the G2 Sir Byrne Hart Stakes at Eagle Farm and the Listed JRA Stakes at Caulfield.
All Bar One (Hennessy) retired to Oaklands Stud in 2007 and his first youngsters have jumped the gun this season starting with Peterhof’s victory at Toowoomba on October 30.
All Bar One is the first freshman to register a stakes winner in Australia this season. He stands at Oaklands for a $7,700 (inc gst) service fee.
He sired the Eagle Farm stakes winner from Rory’s Jester mare Halcyon Daze who has already thrown minor winners by Strategic (2), Lake Coniston, Langfuhr, Favorite Trick, Catbird and Al Maher.
Her latest yearling is a filly by Break the Vault that has been catalogued for the 2011 Magic Millions Central Queensland Sale at Rockhampton in April.
