Sun Stud’s Queensland-based freshman Instinction is on the board with his first winner courtesy of Paradis Imperial at Rockhampton on Friday.
Paradis Imperial (2f Instinction – Hennessy Beau by Hennessy) took out the Capricornia Sales Breeders Fillies Maiden (1050m) on debut for local trainer Lyle Rowe. She had to win it in the stewards’ room, with jockey Nathan Day firing in a successful protest after being hampered by odds-on favourite Royal Myth (Golden Archer) on two separate occasions.
Paradis Imperial was a $9,000 Gainsborough Lodge graduate from the 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions in March. She is the second winner from Hennessy Beau who foaled a colt by Bradbury’s Luck in September.
Instinction is the first Queensland-based first-season sire to produce a winner for the 2016/17 season. The son of Exceed And Excel won the LR Hilton Hotels Stakes (1400m) at Flemington and the LR Zeditave Stakes (1200m) and LR Weekend Hussler Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.
Sun Stud stands Instinction for a $5,500 (inc gst) service fee.
