First for Mount White in Hobart

Former Grenville Stud resident Mount White (USA) sired his first winner in Hobart on Sunday.  His chestnut gelding Faster Than Cows won second-up after a six-month spell in the James Boag Maiden Plate (1400m).

Faster Than Cows (4g Mount White – Duganowl by Clear Choice) showed good early speed to lead and, despite being headed in the home straight, he dug deep to score by a long neck from the favourite Willow The Wisp.

The Mark Everett trained gelding was coming off an unplaced effort behind the highly promising Bag Of Monkeys.  He was the first leg of a winning double for Runnymede trainer Mark Everett who also prepped Rome Burns (West Quest) later in the day.

Mount White (Seeking the Gold) was based at Graeme McCulloch’s Grenville Stud for two seasons in 2005-06.  He stood alongside Champion Tassie sire West Quest at the Whitemore property.
