Any Suggestion struck the first blow by an Australasian-based freshman sire for the new season when his colt Killa Question posted a runaway victory at Pukekohe. on Friday
The Rich Hill Stud resident was a stakes winner of nine races and also finished runner-up in the G1 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley behind Miss Andretti. An impressive son of Danehill’s ill-fated son Lion Hunter, Any Suggestion is from the female family of G1 winner and successful sire Show A Heart.
“It’s a great thrill to see Any Suggestion get his first winner and we couldn’t be more delighted,” Rich Hill studmaster John Thompson said. “We’ve been very happy and appreciative with the level of support he’s had and he’s on target to serve between 70 and 80 mares this season.”
Any Suggestion was bred and owned by Ross and Judy Cutts and raced in same black, white and orange colours as Show A Heart and Woorim. They retained an interest in Any Suggestion with a syndicate of some of New Zealand’s leading commercial breeders.
Killa Question (2c Any Suggestion – Killa Loox by City On A Hill) settled in behind the pace before angling clear into the straight for a convincing two length victory in the DHL Cup Day 19 November Stakes (880m). “He’s got a great constitution and is a real professional,” Matamata trainer Paul Shailer said.
Shailer, who was formerly stable foreman to Chris Waller in Sydney, said the Listed Wellesley Stakes is now an option for Killa Question. The winner is out of a half-sister to G1 Ellerslie Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Iflooxcouldkill.
Any Suggestion stands at Rich Hill Stud alongside Pentire, Shocking and Sir Percy.
