Kim Star joined the list of Redoute’s Choice stallions to sire a winner when Banjo Man broke through at Geraldton on Thursday.
Banjo Man (4g Kim Star – Kim Paula by Bletchley Park) is trained locally by Cliff Green and he won by two lengths as an odds-on favourite under Troy Turner. The gelding had been placed on debut at his home track earlier this month.
Kim Star won at Belmont (3) and Ascot for Henley Brook trainer Malcolm Burnett and owner Kim Garden P/L before retiring to his owner’s property where he covered four books until 2014.
Redoute’s Choice sired him from Randwick winner Irish Joke (Rory’s Jester) who also foaled winners by St Covet, Undoubtedly and Dehere.
