First winner by So Secret

Homebred filly Secret Diva notched the first win for Rangeview Stud sire So Secret at Northam on Thursday.

Secret Diva (3f So Secret – Outward Display by Thunder Gulch) had been placed twice at Ascot in January and she sprinted home from midfield to claim the Toodyay Picnic Raceday Maiden (1100m).

In a busy finish, the Chrissie Stelmach trained filly won by a short-head and long-neck from Kyleena (Scandal Keeper) and Gee Pee Ess (Henrythenavigator).

Bunbury based Stelmach prepares Secret Diva for a partnership that includes her husband Jerry and Rangeview Stud owners Robbie and Jody Gray.

The Grays purchased her dam Outward Display from Gooree Park for $62,500 at the 2007 Magic Millions National Sale.  It was a timely buy.  The mare’s first foal Poor Judge came out and won twice at Listed level in Queensland before grabbing a Group 3 at Flemington.

Outward Display has a 2yo colt by So Secret, a yearling filly by Key Business and she’s due to Henny Hughes in September.

So Secret (Danetime) is a member of WA’s most influential families through his stakes-winning dam Most Secret (Bletchley Park).  She foaled G1 Railway Stakes winner Covertly (Metal Storm).

So Secret was her third black-type winner when he claimed the G3 Colonel Reeves Stakes at Ascot for trainer Fred Kersley and south-west breeder Neville Duncan.

Rangeview Stud stands So Secret for a $4,400( inc gst) service fee alongside Henny Hughes (Hennessy) and Key Business (Success Express).
