Crystal Finale sired his first winner when speedy filly All Crystal scored a head victory at Donald on Tuesday.  She caught the locals by surprise with an $11 win in the Wimmera.

All Crystal (3f Crystal Finale – All Queens by Final Card) won the Sumitomo Tyres Plate (1000m) for Bordertown based owner-trainer Sam Turner.  She had shown plenty of pace on debut at Morphettville last month but wilted to finish well back behind Full On Filou.

Turner shares ownership of the filly with her breeder Les Colbert.  All Crystal is a younger half-sister to That’s A Fact (Planchet) who won at Stawell and Swan Hill last season.  Colbert is also the owner-breeder of Symphony Miss (Distant Music), a G3 winner of the Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield in February.

Crystal Finale is a son of Hurricane Sky and was a Contract Racing homebred.  He was a Listed winner of the Tupperware Cup at Caulfield and, in all, won three races at Caulfield and another at Flemington in 22 starts.

Crystal Finale bowed out of racing when last home in the G3 Yallambee Stud Stakes at Flemington on the day Elvstroem won the 2003 Victorian Derby.

His dam Crystal Century (Century) foaled 8 winners from 7 different sires and they carried the same prefix;  Crystal Hawk (Amyntor), Crystal Academy (Royal Academy), Crystal Sword (Blazing Sword), Crystal Finale (Hurricane Sky), Crystal Hornet (Blazing Sword), Crystal Scene (Scenic) and Crystal Image (Raami).

All Crystal is one of 12 live foals from Crystal Finale’s second crop.  Dr Ian McLeod stands him at Dunkeld for a $1,650 service fee.
