First winner for Jet Spur

Glenlogan Park sire Jet Spur registered his first winner when the Liam Birchley trained Slice And Dice demolished his rivals at Eagle Farm on Saturday in the Peter McLennan QTIS 600 2YO Hcp (1000m).

Slice And Dice unleashed an almighty finishing burst to have his opponents covered in the blink of an eye winning untouched by over six lengths.   He collected $74,000 for the winner’s purse as he is QTIS 600 registered and therefore eligible for double the bonuses.

Birchley will now head the promising colt towards the $250,000 Inglis Nursery race at Randwick on December 19 where he is sure to be one of the leading chances.  The Birchley trained Fear No Other took out last season’s Inglis Classic.

“Slice And Dice was a very impressive,” Birchley said.  “We knew he had improved from his first up run and he is obviously a horse who just takes a little while to find his feet.

“He has a devastating turn of foot when he lets down .  He will have an easy time now for the next week or so and then we will travel to Sydney and tackle the Inglis race.  He is the spitting image of Jet Spur, lots of muscle, good walking type and a real sprinter look about him.

“He was purchased from the draft of Murrulla, and we paid $70,000 for him at the Classic Sale, but that appears very good buying now.”

Slice And Dice became the third Glenlogan Park sired 2YO Saturday Brisbane QTIS winner in as many weeks as Fusette (Falvelon) and Ringa Ringa Rosie (Bradbury’s Luck) saluted on October 31 and November 7 respectively.
