Emirates Park stallion Old Deuteronomy sired his first winner with Second Law at Mornington on Friday.
Second Law (2f Old Deuteronomy – Ensejaam by End Sweep) is trained locally on the peninsula by David Brideoake and David Feek. She led from start to finish on debut to score by a length in the Red Rooster Maiden Plate (1021m).
Emirates Park sold her as a foal for $3,000 at the 2010 Inglis Great Southern Sale at Oaklands Junction. Her dam Ensejaam retired a maiden after 8 starts and she is a half-sister to stakes performers Pink Fit (Flying Spur) and Stars Aligned (Not a Single Doubt).
Old Deuteronomy (Storm Cat) joined the Emirates roster in 2008. He won races at Churchill Downs (2) and Newmarket and was runner-up to One Cool Cat in the G1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
He stands for a $4,400 fee at Emirates Park’s base in Victoria. There were 57 foals in his first crop bred at Digger’s Rest.
