First winner for Your Tent Or Mine

After a disrupted start to his stud career, Your Tent Or Mine was represented by his first winner at Gayndah on Saturday.

Tent Harmony (3c Your Tent Or Mine – Sad Eyed Figure by Seven Figures) was resuming after a 34 week spell and was untroubled to win the Grand Hotel QTIS Maiden Plate (1000m) by two lengths.

The winner is raced by Les Smith who operates Rossvale Stud west of Toowoomba.  He imported Your Tent Or Mine from North America in 2008, however, a stint in Victoria followed by a legal wrangle has stymied his progress at stud.

Your Tent Or Mine (USA) didn’t cover any mares in 2011 but is back in service at Riverside Stud outside Rockhampton this year.  Studmaster Bruce Watts stands him for a $3,300 fee.

Your Tent Or Mine (Forest Camp) is member of the Deputy Minster sireline and was a G3 winner of the Hollywood Prevue Stakes.  He was also second to Brother Derek in the G1 Hollywood Futurity for trainer Neil Drysdale and owner Anthony Speelman.

Tent Harmony is the first to race for unraced mare Sad Eyed Figure.  She is from a half-sister to G1 Victoria Oaks winner Special Harmony and the Perth G2 winners King Canute and Redwoldt.
