Formal Attire has been transferred from WA to stand at Janna Park in South Australia this season.
Formal Attire (Danehill – Ruffles by Zeditave) was retired after an unplaced run at Belmont on the final day of the 2009-10 season and covered 20 mares at short notice last year.
He was initially trained by Brian Mayfield-Smith and broke his maiden at Geelong before winning two city sprints at Sandown.
Transferred to Perth, he was stakes placed in the LR Summer Scorcher and was then a certainty beaten next time at Ascot under inexperienced rider Rospnizan Suhami.
Formal Attire is bred in the purple being by Danehill out of G1 VRC Newmarket winner Ruffles.
Janna Park is run by Jenny Gow-Whyte who is best known as the owner of former top-notch galloper Odysseus. The son of King’s High was a juvenile winner of the LR Oaklands Plate at Victoria Park in 1998 and he was still winning races like the Birthday and Port Adelaide Cups at Cheltenham in 2003.
Gow-Whyte also sold Northern Champion (Mugharreb) to Macau last year and he won the Listed Lisboa Challenge in June.
