Frankel emerged from Tuesday’s G1 Queen Anne Stakes without any hitches despite losing a shoe during the 11 length romp.
“He’s come back well and eaten up at Warren Place,” Juddmonte manager Lord Grimthorpe said. “He seems very happy, so no problems.
“It was a breathtaking performance by any standard. He’s something else and people come into racing for these very special horses. It is hugely important for the whole game.”
As predicted, Timeform issued Frankel with a provisional 147 rating which puts him at the top of the all-time list. Sea Bird had been Timeform’s highest-ever performer with a 145 rating ahead of Brigadier Gerard and Tudor Minstrel on 144.
Frankel (Galileo) not only confirmed he is the world’s best racehorse at Royal Ascot but arguably the greatest of all time. “His performance is likely to surpass anything witnessed in our 64 year history,” Timeform’s David Johnson said. “He consistently performs at that level. It was the fifth time that he has produced a 140 plus rating.”
Black Caviar has a Timeform rating of 136 and she gets a chance to improve on that figure in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday.
