Full house for NZB 2YO graduates in Singapore

NZ Bloodstock’s 2YO Ready to Run graduates claimed five races in Singapore over the weekend.

Leading trainer Michael Freedman maintained his highly-successful association with Karaka graduates on Friday when he sent out another debut winner carrying the ‘Super’ moniker in Super Ninetyseven (Show a Heart).  “It was a good result,” Freedman said.  “The way he covered ground and pinged in the last bit tells me he will get over more ground.”

Super Ninetyseven was sold by Lyndhurst Farm for $125,000 at Karaka.

Ready to Run graduates win four races at Kranji on Sunday.  The Laurie Laxon trained Huka Falls (Align) maintained his unbeaten record in the Victoria Racing Club Trophy (1100m).  He turned heads when winning on debut last month but gave punters a fright when he bombed the start second-up.

Not to be denied, top jockey Joao Moreira weaved the smart three-year-old through the field to score by almost three lengths.  “It’s not often you see them miss the start and win,” said Laxon.  “We will test him in something a bit stronger like the $200,000 Jubilee Stakes in two weeks.”

Huka Falls was catalogued by Anna Scott Racing Stables at Karaka but was passed-in for $45,000.

Trainer Leslie Khoo saddled NZB Ready to Run Sale up-and-comer in Silveron Warrior (Spartacus) and then watched him coast to a two length win over 1600m.  “He’s been a good buy,” said Khoo.  “He cost me only $21,000 at the Ready to Run Sale last year.”

Fellow Ready to Run graduates One Smart Cat (One Cool Cat) and El Padrino (Mr. Nancho) were also successful in Singapore on Sunday night.  One Smart Cat was consigned by Bradbury Park and made $60,000 while El Padrino was sold by Endsleigh Thoroughbreds for $56,000

Catalogues for NZB Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs on November 20 and 21 can be viewed online from this Friday, September 21 at www.nzb.co.nz.
