G3 winner Prakasa tops German Sale

Cologne Group 3 winner Prakasa topped the three-day German BBAG Autumn Sale that finished on Saturday.  Prakasa (Areion) won the G3 Schwarzgold-Rennen in May this year and she made 61,000 euros to the bid of Bischoff Bloodstock.

Next on the leader-board was recent Maisons-Laffitte winner Zarratos.  The Big Shuffle colt sold for 55,000 euros to trainer Miroslav Rulec.

Turnover would have increased but for several notable lots that were passed in.  Unbeaten juvenile filly Kellemoi de Pepita (Hawk Wing) was led out when bidding stopped at 140,000 euros.  And a Shamardal yearling colt out of the top-class North Queen (Desert King) failed to change hands after a vendor bid of 120,000 euros.

Turnover of 2.38 million euros far exceeded last year and the average of 7,557 euros was up 26% against the 2009 figures.  Thursday’s Premier session held up, however, the final two open sessions on Friday and Saturday lacked any fireworks at the Iffezheim venue.

Friday’s session was headed by a 25,000 euros yearling filly by Lomitas and Saturday’s trade was led by a 22,000 euros yearling filly by Shirocco.
