Gainesway taps into southern markets

Tapit is the latest Kentucky based stallion serving to southern-hemisphere time this year.

Tapit (Pulpit) was Champion US first-season sire in 2008 and he will cover to southern time at Gainesway in Lexington for US$20,000 payable when the mare is exported.  His 2009 (northern) fee was $35,000.

A son of A P Indy stallion Pulpit, he joins Medaglia D’Oro (Darley), Successful Appeal and Songandaprayer (Walmac) as sires whose services are being offered to southern-hemisphere breeders.

Tapit was a G1 winner of the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct and his first crop includes G1 winners Careless Jewel (Alabama St), Stardom Bound (Las Virgenes St & Santa Anita Oaks) and Testa Matta (Japan Dirt Derby).

His dam Secret Red (Secretariat) is a half-sister to the dam of Vinery Australia’s Southern Halo sire Dubleo.
