Giant’s Causeway sired his 100th stakes winner in Vancouver on Sunday.   Northern Causeway did the honours in the LR Richmond Derby Trial (1700m) at Hastings Park.

Northern Causeway (3c Giant’s Causeway – Getaway Girl by Silver Deputy) was bred in Kentucky and is from a half-sister to USA Horse of the Year Ghostzapper and G1 winner City Zip.

Giant’s Causeway has sired 659 individual winners at a 65% strike-rate.  Of his 100 stakes winners – 19 have delivered at Group 1 level.

The 14-year-old son of Storm Cat shuttled to Coolmore Australia from Ashford Stud in Kentucky for four seasons until 2004.  He is the sire of Darley sensation Shamardal.
