Glenlogan Park hat-trick at Doomben

Glenlogan Park’s champion stallion Show A Heart sired a winning double at Doomben on Wednesday and his younger half-sister made it a family hat-trick when she won her maiden on the same card.

Racing Heart (3g Show A Heart – Miss Exec by Marauding) continued trainer Rob Heathcote’s great to the season when winning his maiden by four lengths as an odds-on favourite.  He is a half-brother to six winners including Snooping (Luskin Star), a G3 winner of the WATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Heathcote’s name was in the frame again in the following race when Gondola Girl came from well back to nail the favourite Kolo (Country Reel) by a nose over 1110m.

Gondola Girl (3f Thorn Park – Miss Sandman by Regal Advice) is the fourth winner for her dam who won 12 races and was stakes-placed at Doomben and the Gold Coast.  Show A Heart (Brave Warrior) is the stand-out winning at G1 level in the VATC Caulfield Guineas, Toorak Hcp, QTC Stradbroke Hcp and T J Smith Classic.

Gondola Girl races for owner-breeder Ross Cutts and, like Show A Heart, carries his black and white quartered colours.  Miss Sandman returned to Thorn Park to produced colts by the Windsor Park sire in 2007 and 2008 but wasn’t covered last year.

Miss Sandman is a sister the dam of Any Suggestion (Lion Hunter) who is also based in New Zealand.  He won 9 races for Cutts and was a Group 1 runner-up to Miss Andretti in the MVRC Australia Stakes before retiring to stand at Rich Hill Stud.

Hearty Laughter (4m Show A Heart – It’s A Giggle by Rory’s Jester) won later in the day for Gold Coast trainer Helen Page who has been a great supporter of Show A Heart.  The winner is a sister to talented Sydney based sprinter Big Joker.  He was stakes placed three times at two but his career has been continually hampered by injuries.

Glenlogan Park dominated the Doomben card but the stud’s owner Jon Haseler would have been just as happy to see Love Conquers All win first-up the Victory Vein Plate at the corresponding meeting at Randwick.

Love Conquers All (3c Mossman – She’s A Meanie by Prince Salieri) was bred by Glenlogan Park and was a $400,000 buy for Nick Moraitis at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Connections rated the colt very highly from the outset.  At his only other start in the G2 Silver Slipper at Rosehill in February, Love Conquers All finished well back behind Melito but there were excuses.  He featured in the stewards reports after a slow getaway before being checked and then tightened for room in transit.

Love Conquers All is a younger half-brother to the Gai Waterhouse trained stakes winner She’s Meaner.  The Falvelon filly was raced by Haseler and was a Listed winner of the Wyong Slipper and T J Smith Slipper at Doomben last year.  She has been retired and will be covered by Show A Heart.

She’s A Meanie has another Falvelon filly that will be one of the stars of Glenlogan Park’s draft at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale.

Meanwhile, Glenlogan Park newcomer Real Saga has taken to the breeding barn like a duck to water.  The Tale Of The Cat colt topped Timeform’s 2YO rates for 2008-09 after winning four of his six starts including a G2 victory over Phelan Ready in the STC Todman Slipper.

The Helen Page trained Satsang will visit him this Saturday morning.  The Show A Heart mare won four races including the Listed Cadell-Garrick Stakes at Eagle Farm.
