Go For Home can break for his first win second time out in the Belmark Rural Plate at Cranbourne (Race 2 at 1.30pm AEDT) on Sunday.
Go For Home (3g Redoute’s Choice – She’s Gogo by Unaccounted For) was backed into favouritism on debut at Mornington three weeks ago and he worked home nicely at the end of 1200m to get within a length of Sion Priory. The extra 100m should suit on Sunday.
A son of champion sire Redoute’s Choice, he is from the winning US bred mare She’s Gogo who has four foals to race for four winners. Her 5yo mare Geeogeeo (Choisir) has already won this season while Haggis (Agnes World) and She Just Goes (Redoute’s Choice) were successful in 2008-09.
She’s Gogo is a half-sister to Willowy Mood (Will Win) who won 14 races up to 1300m including the G3 Tempted St at Aqueduct and Barbara Fritchie Hcp at Laurel.
Go For Home failed to reach a $250,000 reserve at the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale but Pinecliff Racing’s Jonathon Munz must have come up with the right readies because the horse now races in his white and red striped silks.
