The good judges are on Ready’s Image and that was evident at the Magic Millions HIT Sale when one of his colts made $70,000.
Walmac Farm owner John T Jones III predicted as much when Ready’s Image began shuttling from Kentucky to Lincoln Farm in the Hunter Valley. “He had that all-important brilliance at two,” Jones said. “And he’s a good sized 16.2 hands stallion so is sure to put commercial conformation to his progeny.”
Ready’s Image (More Than Ready) got the Magic Millions HIT Sale colt from Mass Attack and he looked a nice type when breezing in 10.95s. Gary Moore’s sons Nick and James had to fight off some spirited opposition to make the winning bid at the Gold Coast.
His Inglis Classic yearlings topped the averages for first-season sires earlier this year and they were headed by a $100,000 colt bought by BC3 Thoroughbreds manager Bill Vlahos. He is now registered as Move Like Mick (ex Topsinga by Danasinga).
Vlahos also weighed in with $52,000 for a Ready’s Image colt named Present Glow (ex Bye Bye Tata by Zabeel) at the Classic Sale. Both colts are in work with trainer Kevin Newby and are expected to step up and trial soon.
The first-crop of Kentucky bred yearlings by Ready’s Image fetched up to $150,000 and they have converted that vote of confidence into 7 individual winners so far this year.
Call M’eve Maybe (2g Ready’s Image – Thieve This by Cat Thief) notched the latest win at Hawthorne Park in Chicago on Saturday. Part-owned and trained by Anthony Granitz, he sat outside the leader and then surged clear for a three length victory over 1200m.
Lincoln Farm owner Nick Posa is still booking mares to Ready’s Image at a $5,500 (inc gst) service fee. Breeders should contact Posa for further information on 0417 903 578.
