Arrowfield sire Snitzel has been an instant success at stud and his first Group 1 winner could be just around the corner with Hot Snitzel.
The Gerald Ryan trained gelding will be set for the G1 T J Smith at Eagle Farm next month on the strength of an explosive six length victory in the Listed Ken Russell Memorial at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Ryan will run him in the G2 Champagne Classic and G2 Qld Sires Produce Stakes on the way to the final Group 1 juvenile event of the season
Hot Snitzel (2c Snitzel – Flames Of Paris by Blushing Groom) is raced by a Triple Crown syndicate and was a $60,000 buy from Bellerive Stud at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale. He has already earned over $175,000.
Ryan has an affinity with Snitzel after training him to a G1 victory in the MRC Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield. “We’re having a bit of luck with the Snitzels” Ryan said. “They’re a tough breed and they can run.”
Hot Snitzel is from a half-sister to G1 Irish Moyglare Stakes winner Park Appeal (Ahonoora) and is related to champion sires Cape Cross (Green Desert) and Iffraaj (Zafonic).
