King’s Rose, Rekindled Interest and Master of Design delivered a stunning Group 2 treble for champion sire Redoute’s Choice within 45 minutes at Moonee Valley and Rosehill on Saturday.

Rekindled Interest struck first at Moonee Valley to beat Alcopop and favourite Whobegotyou in the G2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m).  It was his second G2 triumph at the Valley following last year’s AAMI Vase (2040m).

A return to Moonee Valley for this year’s $3 million G1 W S Cox Plate is now likely.  From the Irish-bred Rainbow Quest mare Rekindled Affair, Rekindled Interest, was born and raised at Bellerive Stud for owner-breeder Jonathan Munz.  

Master Of Design became the 77th stakes winner by Redoute’s Choice in the ATC Theo Marks Stakes (1300m).  He dug deep to deny Torio’s Quest and Fast Clip in a close finish at Rosehill.

Bred and sold by Arrowfield for $2.10 million at the 2007 Inglis Easter yearling sale, he changed hands a second time and is now raced by Luke Murrell, James Phelan, Jamie Stumer, Mark Harvey and Michael Virgo.

Master Of Design’s dam Urge to Merge is a winning sister to the dam of 2010 Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy.  She is foaling this spring to Charge Forward and will be bred back to Arrowfield’s new sire Beneteau.

King’s Rose firmed up her own Cox Plate plans with a fighting G2 victory in the Stocks Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

The reigning New Zealand Filly of the Year was caught three wide but kept finding in the straight to fend off Pinker Pinker by a head.  Her next target is the G1 VRC Turnbull Stakes on October 2.

Redoute’s Choice fillies Hurriyet and Lipari also chipped in with black type placings in the LR SAJC Morphettville Guineas.  The Arrowfield champion is on top of the Australian sires’ premiership with 33 winners of more than $1.40 million!

This time of the year has traditionally been a kind season for Redoute’s Choice with 9 of his 20 Group 1 winners arriving during the Sydney & Melbourne spring carnivals.

Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire son of Danehill stands the 2011 season at a fee of $137,500 (inc. gst).
