Cathy Hains has been elected to the Board of Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria. Hains fills the vacancy of retiring Board member Ruth Frenzel.
“The Hains name is synonymous with racing and breeding success at the elite level,” TBV President Tim Johnson said. “Cathy is a coup for our Association and adds further depth to the group we have assembled over the past few years.”
Cathy Hains owns and runs the highly successful Burnewang North located between Elmore and Rochester. She purchased the property in 2005 to establish a commercial broodmare facility which presents yearlings at the Inglis Premier and Easter sales.
At this year’s Premier Sale, Burnewang North achieved outstanding success, finishing in the top three sellers at the sale in only their third year as a vendor.
Burnawang North topped the Premier with a $340,000 Fastnet Rock colt from the G2 winning Spinning World mare Coupe. He has been named Willis and is a member of the Team Williams crew at Mt Macedon.
The Hains family’s Kingston Park is known to all Australian racegoers via Kingston Town, Spirit Of Kingston, Rose Of Kingston and Melbourne Cup record holder Kingston Rule who sadly passed away recently.
