Half-sister to Black Caviar catalogued for 2012 Inglis Easter Sale

Inglis trumpeted another top-tier addition to its 2012 Easter yearling sale catalogue on Thursday.

In the last week, Inglis has announced the brother to So You Think and the half-brother to Makybe Diva would go under the hammer at its Newmarket sale-ring next April.

The third blue-blood to join the catalogue is the Redoute’s Choice half-sister to world champion Black Caviar.

Unbeaten in 13 starts, the last 6 at Group 1 level, Black Caviar (Bel Esprit) will return to racing for as many as 8 races later this year before embarking on a Royal Ascot campaign in 2012.

Inglis Melbourne auctioneer Simon Vivian inspected the filly at Gilgai Farm recently.  “Black Caviar’s half-sister is well balanced and particularly athletic, which is a trait that all buyers look for,” Vivian said.  “She will continue to develop over the coming months and I expect her to be a star yearling come Easter”.

The filly is the fourth foal of well related Desert Sun mare Helsinge.  Second dam Scandinavia has also produced G1 winner Magnus and G2 winner Wilander.

Gilgai Farm owner Rick Jamieson sold the Casino Prince half-brother to Black Caviar to trainer John Hawkes at this year’s Inglis Easter Sale for $1,025,000.

The 2012 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale will be held at Newmarket in Sydney from Tuesday April 10 to Thursday April 12.
