The 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale has received yet another boost with the inclusion of a half sister to Shoot Out.
Shoot Out has emerged in the past 12 months as one of the country’s finest gallopers. His outstanding three year-old season was capped last Saturday night when he was announced as Queensland’s Horse of the Year for 2009-10.
Shoot Out is one of two classic winners produced (from two to race) by the grand producing Pentire mare Pentamerous. She is also the dam of the Western Australian Oaks winner Cassandara Shadow.
The mare’s latest yearling, a black or brown filly, is by exciting young Queensland based sire Ferocity. Earlier this year the filly’s full sister made $160,000 at the Gold Coast. The filly heading to this January’s sale will be prepared by renowned horsewoman Robyn Wise.
Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said the filly is a really lovely individual. “Shoot Out is a great galloper and he’s on track for the Cox Plate in October. I can’t wait to see how she continues to develop between now and January.”
The half sister to Shoot Out joins a growing list of outstanding entries for 2001 Gold Coast Magic Millions. There’s a half brother to Starspangledbanner, the first foal of champion mare Miss Andretti, a sister to G1 Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff and a Redoute’s Choice half sister to More Joyous.
