New Zealand stallion Howbaddouwantit has started the Hong Kong season with a flurry of winners and he is currently sitting third on their sires’ premiership.

The Goodwood Stud resident is a son of champion sire Rahy (Blushing Groom) who died in Kentucky last week.

Howbaddouwantit has sired three Hong Kong winners in the past fortnight including the Derek Cruz-trained galloper Flying Colours (NZ) who has chalked up two impressive victories at Happy Valley.

His lightly raced gelding Regency Gold (NZ) made amends for an unlucky seasonal debut when a Sha Tin winner last Sunday.

And Easy Gold (NZ) added his named to the list with a determined victory in the HK$525,000 Wong Chuk Hang Hcp at Happy Valley on Wednesday night.

“They’re extremely versatile,” Goodwood Stud’s Rex Fell said.  “They’re good, genuine horses and are very easy to train.  They run as two-year-olds and older horses, they sprint over five furlongs and they stay.”

The consistent sire has also been represented by a number of winners in both Singapore and Australia including the highly impressive Robbie Griffiths-trained Who Stole My Sock (NZ) who won at Ballarat on Wednesday.

Howbaddouwantit has sired 166 winners including Champion 2YO Filly Mi Jubilee (NZ).  He is standing at Goodwood Stud in Palmerston North this season for a fee of $2,000.
