Hat Trick with Hidden Ball

One-time Independent Stallions shuttler Hat Trick (Jpn) broke through with his first domestic winner with Hidden Ball Trick in Maryland on Thursday.

Hidden Ball Trick (2f Hat Trick – Despot by Wavering Monarch) was sold for $17,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky yearling sale in October 2010.  The Timothy Keefe trained filly rallied to get up by a head clocking 65.30s for 1100m at Laurel Park.

Hat Trick’s top performer this term is the French-based colt Dabirsim who is a perfect four-for-four after graduating to a G1 victory in the Prix Morny at Deauville in August.

Dabirsim is poised to clinch championship honours in the G1 Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp on Sunday.  Hat Trick has also sired two winners in Russia and another in Mexico.

Hat Trick (Sunday Silence) was a G1 winner of Japan’s 2005 Mile Championship and he added the G1 Hong Kong Mile at the end of that year’s campaign.  He retired with more than $3.1 million in earnings from a 21-8-0-0 record.

Independent Stallions studmaster Mike Becker shuttled Hat Trick to Victoria in 2008.  He shuttled to South America after that solo stint in Australia.

Hat Trick stands at Walmac Farm in Kentucky for a $6,000 service fee.
