Hope springs eternal for All Bar One

Hopefully sent All Bar One to the top of the winners list on the Australian first-season sires’ premiership in the Jasmond Transport Maiden Hcp (1200m) at Toowoomba on Saturday night.

All Bar One is based at Oaklands Stud and he has now been represented by four individual winners to lead Nadeem, Excites, Saxon and Red Dazzler on three each.

Hopefully (2f All Bar One – Special Deposit by Special Dane) collected $13,500 in prizemoney which included a QTIS bonus.  She is trained locally by Mark Webb and defeated Enough Is Enough (Danbird) and odds-on favourite Macca’s Express (Stromberg Carlson).

Hopefully had been runner-up behind Doug’s Mate and Aquatorial at her first two outings at Toowoomba and both winners subsequently proved they are city class gallopers.  The grey filly was beaten a long way second-up but stewards reported she struck trouble on several occasions in transit.

Her dam Special Deposit won at Ipswich and Sunshine Coast and her first starter was three-time winner Seychelles (Tsuimai).  The mare has another two All Bar One colts in the pipeline.

All Bar One was a G2 winner of the Sir Byrne Hart Stakes at Eagle Farm and the LR JRA Stakes at Caulfield and his four winners includes Listed Phelan Ready Stakes winner I’m the One.

Hailing from the Hennessy branch of the Storm Cat sireline, All Bar One stands for a $7,700 (inc gst) service fee at Oaklands.
