Distorted Humor reached the 100 stakes-winner milestone when his filly Savvy Supreme notched a Listed victory in the Classy Mirage Stakes at Belmont Park on Wednesday.
Distorted Humor (Forty Niner – Danzig’s Beauty by Danzig) stands for a $100,000 fee at WinStar Farm in Kentucky. He shuttled to Independent Stallions in Victoria but was shunned by local breeders during a one-off southern season in 2000.
Distorted Humor has sired 586 winners that have earned more than $75 million including classic winners Funny Cide (Kentucky Derby), Drosselmeyer (Belmont Stakes) and the G1 winners Flower Alley, Pathfork, Hystericalady, Commentator, Awesome Humor, Fourty Niners Son, Bit of Whimsy, Darley shuttler Any Given Saturday and SAJC Australasian Oaks winner Rinky Dink.
Savvy Supreme is a younger sister to Commentator who was a dual winner of the G1 Whitney Hcp at Saratoga. WinStar bought her for $520,000 at the 2008 Keeneland November Sale.
WinStar also races 2010 Belmont Stakes winner Drosselmeyer. He resumed from an injury-enforced spell to win the LR One Count Stakes in New York on Sunday.
