Snitzel sprinter Hunger won a competitive renewal of the $100,000 Inglis Trophy (1400m) at Sale on Sunday.
Hunger was forced to work outside speedy galloper Senglea Sun in the lead before holding off the strong finishing runs of Cool God (God’s Own) and Edgewood (Churchill Downs). He has now won two of three starts for trainer Mick Price after breaking though at Ballarat earlier in the month.
Hunger (3g Snitzel – Hollaback by Fusaichi Pegasus) is the first foal of Sydney winner dam Hollaback who has missed the last two years to Lonhro. Second dam Lady Mulan (Bigstone) won the G2 AJC Light Fingers Stakes and G3 Adrian Knox Stakes.
He was bred by Perrin Legal and Price purchased him for $100,000 from Bell View Park at the 2011 Inglis Sydney Classic Sale.
Sunday’s Sale Cup meeting also saw Inglis Bloodstock’s Stephanie Grentell auction a God’s Own 2yo colt from stakes winning Zeditave mare Happen for $20,000.
