Hurtle Myrtle catalogued for Magic Millions National Sale

Group 1 VRC Myer Classic winner Hurtle Myrtle is the latest star lot to be entered for the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast.

Hurtle Myrtle (Dane Shadow) won four races and over $773,000 including the prestigious mare’s prize during the Melbourne Cup carnival.  Presented in the Kitchwin Hills draft, she has been catalogued as Lot 495 and she will go under the hammer with the other supplementary lots on Tuesday, May 29.

Bred on the successful Danehill – Woodman cross, Hurtle Myrtle claimed the Sapphire Stakes in Sydney and the Dane Ripper Stakes in Brisbane before winning the Myer Classic at Flemington’s last spring.

Under the care of top Warwick Farm horseman Matthew Smith, Hurtle Myrtle won the Sapphire Stakes in Sydney and the Dane Ripper Stakes in Brisbane before winning the Myer Classic last spring.

She is one of three winners produced by the Sydney winning Woodman mare Ravenswood.  Her second dam’s brother Star Watch won a Golden Slipper.

Hurtle Myrtle joins a stellar list of race fillies and mares being sold as maiden breeding prospects straight off the track.  Others include Sacred Choice, Scarlett Lady, Miss Keepsake, Vintedge, Karuta Queen, Valentine Miss, Funtantes, Twilight Savings, Bliss Street and Triple Asset.
