Whilst many believe that it is the prerogative of the bookmaker to lay the favourite in the race and make that selection his or her greatest liability, however, I believe today’s bookmaking game to be a form game.

As I stated last week, Mic Mac was going to receive a soft lead in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield and although the price was short, he was over the odds.  Whobegotyou is now looking for a mile and further, and while some experts are rating him as a bridesmaid, there is no doubt that Mark Kavanagh is setting him for the Cox Plate over the 2040 metres.  In my opinion, he is right on song with his preparation so far.

I know that Darley have a view to send their better horses overseas, but I would like to see Denman remain in Australia and contest the top line races over the next two years.  The progeny by Lonhro are exciting and, in my opinion, this horse has the scope to win some very big races in the future.
