Inglis Classic Sale – Princess Farm tops Book 2

A colt by Princes Farm sire Roman Emperor topped the Inglis Classic Book 2 yearling sale in Sydney on Friday.

Purchased for $42,000 by a NSW client of Inglis, he is from NZ bred mare Miss Meliss (Zabeel) who was Group 2 placed at Flemington.  She has already thrown minor winners by Encosta de Lago (2), Shamardal and Starcraft.

Princes Farm was the sale’s leading vendor by average (3 or more sold) and one of 16 vendors to achieve a 100% clearance rate.  “Our horses were well-received,” Anthony Cummings said on behalf of the team at Princes Farm.  “We’re really pleased with the results today.”

Paul Perry outlaid $85,000 on three lots, including a $40,000 Uncle Mo – Red’s Moxie filly from Think Big Stud.  No stranger to success with Classic Sale graduates like Choisir, the Newcastle trainer was pleased with his purchases.

“I was impressed with what I saw on the grounds,” said Perry.  “I was particularly taken with the Ilovethiscity – Medusa colt and thought he was good value.”

The Classic turnover – with one less lot offered than last year – jumped 48% to $692,750 and the clearance rate was up 4 points to 89%.
