Inglis Summer Sale clears 94% at Newmarket

The strong level of competition at Inglis Mixed Sales continued during Friday’s Summer Sale at Newmarket.  The 94% clearance rate propelled turnover to more than $800,000.

The top priced lot came among the unreserved reduction from Luskin Park Stud when the Night Shift mare Felicity made $105,000.  She was sold with an outstanding Lonhro filly foal at foot.  The mare, who is already the dam of stakes placed Beatitude, was also carrying a positive test to Stratum.

Lonhro also featured in the second highest priced lot of the day when Redoute’s Choice mare Rose Artist sold to Lindsay Park Stud for $70,000 carrying a foal by Darley’s in-form stallion.

Cossack Warrior mare Mezdorf was sold for $65,000 with a Danewin sister-in-blood foal to stakes winner Dorf’s Command (Commands).
Multiple Sydney winner Xavier topped the racehorse section at $26,000.

Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said the results were a positive indicator for the industry.  “We were very pleased with the competition on the majority of horses,” D’Arcy said.  “Provincial and country racing is obviously in good shape given the excellent competition for tried racehorses.”

The next Inglis Sale will be the December Sale at Oaklands on December 18.  Supplementaries close next Friday, December 11.
