Invincible three-quarter brother to Sea The Stars

Former Chatswood shuttler Invincible Spirit has a regally bred colt ready to begin his education at John Oxx’s Irish stable in October.  The colt is a three-quarter brother to Cape Cross superstar Sea The Stars.

“He is a nice type, very correct with a good walk,” said Pat Downes, manager of the Aga Khan’s Gilltown Stud, said.  “He’s laid back and will join John’s stable next month.”

The yearling colt is the final foal out of 1993 Arc de Triomphe winner Urban Sea who died in March last year.  The youngster is also a half-brother to G1 winners Galileo, Black Sam Bellamy and My Typhoon.

“You would pick him out as an Invincible Spirit as he’s quite precocious looking,” Downes added.  “Cape Cross and Invincible Spirit are both by Green Desert but they are quite different, and you can see Invincible Spirit in this colt.”

Gilltown Stud is home to Sea The Stars who covered 140 mares during his first season at stud this year.  His book included Zarkava and her dam Zarkasha, Japanese champion Vodka and classic winners Finsceal Beo,Look Here and Speciosa.

The first mare in foal to Sea The Stars to be offered at auction is scheduled to go through the ring at the Goffs November Sale.

Forenaghts Stud will consign Karmifira carrying a PPT to Sea The Stars who was undefeated in 2009 with feature wins in the English 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby, Coral Eclipse Stakes, Juddmonte International, Irish Champion Stakes and Arc de Triomphe.

Karmifira (Always Fair – Karmiska by Bikala) was runner-up in the 1999 French 2000 Guineas and has produced the winners three winners including On Verra who was runner-up in the 2009 G1 Prix Marcel Boussac.
